Alan Chapman
Founder & Fractional CMO
Originally from Scotland, Alan has spent his career in marketing across professional services and recruitment. He holds a BA in Marketing and moved to Australia in the late 1990s. He began in advertising at Havas, then joined the global recruitment and professional services firm Robert Half in 2003.
He held various global senior roles at Robert Half covering Asia Pacific and Canada. He has built and led remote marketing teams across many global markets, and ran marketing through every cycle of the past two decades: the GFC, Covid, the post-Covid hiring boom, the inflationary years and the current AI-driven shift in hiring.
His work there included overhauling a lead generation engine, growing inbound revenue for one of the business units, and securing No.1 share of voice in the recruitment category. He led market, category and product launches across APAC, several scaled from start-up to substantial revenue, including an AI talent-matching product launched in five countries.
Alan founded Accendo Marketing in 2025. After two decades inside a large global organisation, he wanted to work directly with founders and leaders, and with smaller, agile mid-sized boutique firms. Before launching, he spent several months building hands-on AI capability and completed formal AI marketing credentials with the University of Sydney Business School and the Australian Centre for AI in Marketing.
Outside work, Alan travels, and is most likely to be found on a mountain bike, on the snow, or in the studio producing music.
